Kruse Village Staff Member Suspended Following Incident, Ongoing Investigation Initiated

Investigating a purported incident involving a now-suspended employee, Brenham’s Kruse Village is investigating. Brenham police received a report of an attack at Kruse Village on Saturday, leading to the arrest of Mary Garrett, 60. Garrett faced charges of causing bodily harm with the intent to injure a child, elderly, or disabled person.

The incident reportedly happened around 3:30 p.m. and was reported to law authorities, according to Ross Bradfield, the executive director of Kruse Village. As per Bradfield, the accused offender was promptly suspended from her job and will stay away from the premises while the establishment conducts an internal inquiry.

In this regard, Bradfield stated, Kruse Village is completely assisting local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities. He declared, “Protecting the health and wellness of our residents, team members, and family members is Kruse Village’s top priority.”

It is said that the tragedy happened at approximately 3:30 PM on December 16, 2023. I arrived on site as soon as I was informed of the situation, as I am the campus’ executive director. I got the suspected offender immediately suspended from her job after reporting the incident to law enforcement.

The questioned team member will stay off-site while the facility conducts an internal inquiry. We are working together with state and municipal regulatory authorities as well as law enforcement to resolve this issue. Maintaining the health and well-being of our residents, staff members, and family members is our first focus at Kruse Village.
