Theresa was fatally shot by her estranged husband, 44-year-old Jason Cachuela, in a shopping center’s parking lot, specifically at the Pearlridge Center. This horrifying act took place in front of their 8-year-old daughter, adding a deeply distressing dimension to the tragedy.

Theresa Cachuela was known as a social media influencer and beauty entrepreneur, having built a significant following and a successful business. She had about 20,000 followers on Instagram.

On the morning of the incident, she was heading to get breakfast with her daughter when they were approached by Jason, who shot and killed Theresa before fleeing the scene. His lifeless body was later discovered in Waipahu, where he had taken his own life.
