KBTX – BRENHAM, TX Information on two drive-by shootings this month has been made public by the Brenham Police Department.
From the City of Brenham, the following news release was issued:
Today, December 22, 2023, the Brenham Police Department made information regarding an event that happened on December 8, 2023, at around 4:36 p.m. available. The Brenham Village Apartments reported gunfire, and police responded. A criminal inquiry was launched after getting in touch with the Brenham Police Department’s Criminal Inquiry Division.
After further inquiry, it was found that two minors and an adult were inside a black 4-door passenger car when they fired several bullets toward a gathering of people on Park View Street, which included both minors and adults. Following a series of rounds fired from the car toward the apartment buildings, the group of people fired multiple shots back at the car. And with that, the car drove off. The 800 block of Independence Street is where the car was eventually found.
A drive-by gunshot in the 800 block of Independence Street happened shortly after this one, at around 5:10 p.m. This drive-by shooting incident is thought to have been a reprisal. Following the incident, two adults and three minors were arrested for dangerous conduct and placed in detention with the help of the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Outstanding arrest warrants are out for the other parties involved in this event.
