Who the Buc are you?
The Round Table got the opportunity to sit down with Nathan Sill ’23 and find out who the Buc he is!
The Round Table: Where are you from?
Nathan Sill ’23: “Beloit, WI.”
RT: What is your major?
Sill: “Psychology.”
RT: What is your plan after college?
Sill: “Probably graduate school.”
RT: How did you choose Beloit?
Sill: “It came down between Beloit and Duluth, and Beloit got me better!”
RT: When did you start swimming and how did you get into it?
Sill: “I started swim when I was four at the Beloit YMCA.”
RT: What events do you do?
Sill: “Fifty freestyle, the hundred and sometimes the fly.”
RT: What is your favorite aspect of swim?
Sill: “Definitely the team, and being around other people!”
Rt: How long have you competed?
Sill: “Since I was eight.”
RT: How do you get hyped for a meet?
Sill: “I like to do breathing exercises to get the nerves ironed out, and usually just try and remember to have fun.”
RT: What’s your favorite memory with the team?
Sill: “Definitely enjoy meals the most, as we all get to sit down and talk. It’s a nice way to get to know each other and bond.”
RT: Does the team have any traditions?
Sill: “Pasta night!”
RT: What does a typical practice look like?
Sill: “First we stretch, after we warm up which is followed by a preset, some drill work and then a main set, and a cool down.”
RT: What are some of your goals in swimming and in life?
Sill: “Athletics have always been a big part of my life, whether positive or negative. I think learning how to work hard and accept failure with your success is always an important thing.”
RT: Do you have any superstitions?
Sill: “Nope!”
RT: Do you have any pets? Names? Breed?
Sill: “I have a family dog named Drax, he’s a Dogo Argentino.”
RT: If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
Sill: “I’d like to go to New Zealand, go on the Lord of the Rings hike!”
RT: Stance on pineapple on pizza? Why or why not?
Sill: “Yes!”
