Who the Buc are you?: Running back Mason Dixon
This week, The Round Table sat down to talk with Bucs running back, Mason Dixon’17.
The captain has an exceptional number of accolades from his first three seasons at Beloit, including 2nd team All Midwest Conference in both 2014 and 2015, Beloit College Male Freshman of the Year in 2013-2014, Male Sophomore of the Year in 2014-2015, the Beloit College Football Richard J. Shanahan Most Valuable Player in 2013, and Beloit College Offensive Player of the Year in 2014.
According to Beloit College Athletics statistics, Dixon is currently third on the all-time rushing yards leaderboard, chasing his father’s record. He is also working on beating his father’s record for most career rushing touchdowns of 45, Mason currently has 32. The father and son duo are tied for most touchdowns in a game with four. Mason tops the all time leaderboard in average rushing yards per season with 1,221.
Dixon, however is extremely humble, saying in an interview with D3football that he doesn’t pay a lot of attention to his stats. The captain instead says in the same interview, I just want to be a positive role model for the guys on and off the field. It means having good judgement. Anything that I have learned over the years, I want to pass down and help the guys grow as much as possible.”
